| Meet a few of the children. |
The first child
Mr. Joe brought to the United States for treatment was Phuc Thanh
Nguyen when he was age 14. He had a spinal curvature in excess of 110 degrees
and his right leg was short and useless.
Surgery and
therapy gave Phuc an easier and longer life. He is now back
home in Vietnam, learning computer technology, and gainfully employed.
Thu left Vietnam unable to stand, but returned home
able to walk to her parents.
| Tung Than Nguyen
lost both arms to burns from and electrical accident. When he returned
to Vietnam he took back much more than a prosthetic arm; he carries
great memories of his first experience with snow, pizza, summer
soccer leagues, meeting Doug Flutie, and his
American foster family.
